About us

A tree firm that puts the garden back

Everyday Arborist works on trees and on the ground they stand in, from one team, across Ash, Aldershot and the Surrey and Hampshire border.

What we do

Tree care and landscaping, together

Most firms do one or the other. A tree surgeon takes the tree down and leaves you with a stump, a rutted lawn and a second contractor to find. A landscaper builds the garden but will not touch anything that needs climbing.

Everyday Arborist does both, which matters most on exactly the jobs where it is awkward: the tree comes out, the stump is ground, the ground is made good, and the turf or the planting goes back in. One quote, one team, one visit to tidy up after.

We work for households and for commercial clients, including estates, schools and managing agents where grounds have to be kept up while the site stays in use.

How we work

Six things we hold to

We are not going to list accreditations we have not told you about or reviews we have not collected. This is simply how the work is done.

We look before we price

Access decides how most tree jobs are done, and access is the thing you cannot judge from a photograph. We visit, work out how the tree comes down and where the chipper goes, then quote in writing with the scope defined.

The right cut, not the quick one

Topping a tree, cutting the crown back to blunt stubs, is fast and it is genuinely damaging. We reduce to suitable growth points so the tree can seal and respond. It takes longer and it is the only version worth paying for.

We will tell you to do nothing

Plenty of trees that worry their owners are structurally fine, and some problems are better watched for a season than cut at. If that is the honest answer we will give it, even though it is not the one that earns us work.

Permissions checked up front

Tree Preservation Orders, conservation areas and planning conditions are checked before a quote is agreed, not discovered afterwards. Working on a protected tree without consent is a criminal offence, and it is the homeowner who is liable.

The site goes back tidy

Brash chipped, timber cut and stacked or removed, ground raked over. Clearing down is part of the job and it is in the price, not a line we add at the end.

The wood has somewhere to go

Arisings are chipped or cut to length rather than skipped whole. If you want the chip for your borders or the logs for the burner, tell us when we quote and we will leave them where you want them.

Straight with you

What to ask us, and anyone else

Tree work is unregulated in the sense that anyone can buy a chainsaw and a van. The questions below are worth putting to every contractor you speak to, including us.

  • Can you show me your public liability insurance, and does it cover tree work specifically?

  • Is the quote in writing, and does it say which trees and exactly what is being cut?

  • Have you checked whether this tree has a Tree Preservation Order or sits in a conservation area?

  • Where does the waste go, and are you licensed to carry it?

  • If you find decay once you are up there, what happens next?

There is more on this in our guide to choosing a tree surgeon, including what actually drives the cost of a removal or a prune.
